I don't know how to compliment this place enough without you seeing the enthusiasm on my face while I talk. 5 stars doesn't do it justice. The care and love from the owners combined with the unbelievable food will keep me coming back over and over again. The goodfella is the best cold meat sandwich Ive had anywhere. The soups have all been great and the cannoli just speaks for itself. Go. Eat. There. We just discovered this place on Monday and today we loaded up and made a 60 mile round trip to go back for more.

During this pandemic, I've been heading down to the IVA on a weekly basis to assist with the distribution of food @ Project Success in Spring Valley. So every Wednesday, I make it a point to try a new spot in the Valley. This weeks trek was to DeMilio's Italian Deli. After the 1st bite, I knew I made the right call immediately. Truth be told, I passed by the place as it's wedged between to other businesses and their sign looks a bit faded from the sun. I phoned in the order for pick up and went with the DeMilio's Sub which included Ham, Salami, Capicolla, Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato & Oil on a Baked Sub Roll. I opted for the 9" which in retrospect, I did not need since this sub was filled with meat galore! The bread was fresh and I also asked for giardiniera which was a great move as they did not skimp on the portion! Now I ate this in car which was messy but I do look forward to the day where I can head back to Ladd, gain some elbow room and handle this again! The only drawback from my experience was the meh selection of chips. Going to a deli, I like to see some solid chip options but instead I saw small bags of Frito Lay products as opposed to some Bagel Chips, Miss Vickie's Chips or at least some smaller bags of Kitchen Cooked chips! Plenty of parking available and a friendly staff to boot! I can't wait to head back in the near future.

Real authentic deli sandwiches. Very good. A little pricey but worth it.

All around flavorful, fresh, and interesting lunch sandwiches. The Italian Beef's juiciness stands up to the legend, the Italian Sausage was delicious and mild enough for Midwestern mouths. Quick service. No bathrooms.

Wow! What can I say about a little, teeny tiny sandwich shop? Plenty. I'll start with the fact that I have not had an Italian beef sandwich in probably a year or so and I would gladly wait another year if it meant that at the end of my hiatus an Italian beef from this place was my reward. The beef is homemade as is the au jus. Throw some melted provolone cheese on there and some giardinara peppers and some extra gravy and I was in heaven. The beef was flavorful and moist and seasoned perfectly. The bread stood up to the gravy nicely. But the best part - by far - was the little tub of au jus on the side. Every other place provides au jus in a small container or ramekin. This place gives you a 16 ounce styrofoam container filled with piping hot au jus. And the mouth of the container is about five inches across to easily accommodate the entire end of the sandwich to allow for full and complete dipping. Truly a wonderful consideration and I appreciate it! And if you go there, you'll see what I mean. You'll never look at an Italian beef sandwich the same way and you will forevermore curse the little ramekins of au jus!!

Unique for the area. Darn good sandwiches and the pasta salad is tasty as well. I was surprised this sandwich place is carry out only, but didn't mind eating lunch in my car when it tastes this good! I Would appreciate 3-4 small tables for those who want to dine in. My "Tommy Boy" was a hot sliced turkey panini that had the meat piled high with a thick slice of melted cheese on two thick slices of wheat bread. No scrimping on quality like Americans get at the chain sandwich shops like Jimmy johns or Subway. Yum yum in my tum tum.

Amazing meatball sub, great pasta salad! My hubby got the Goodfellas sub and he loved it. This will be one of our regular spots from now on!

The only Italian deli in the Illinois Valley. The prices are extremely reasonable for the size and quality of your meal. The service is excellent, and the wait time is minimal. The owners are very accommodating if you want to call or fax your order ahead. This place is an absolute must if you like real, New York-style Italian sandwiches and meats! Highlights: The pasta & potato salad are excellent, and the Italian beef is to die for! (ask for extra cheese extra cheese)
